SALVATION
The best thing to do when you believe your child is ready to accept Christ is pray and seek the Holy Spirit. The following guide shows your child what God’s perfect Word says about accepting and believing in His son.
Psalms 139:13-16
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
God has made every single human being to ever live, and that includes you! You were made in a unique, one of a kind way. There will never be another you. God was there before you were born, creating you how He knew would be best. He knows everything you will go through. He loves you and cares for you!
Romans 3:23
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
We have all sinned, or disobeyed what God wants us to do. He has a way He wants us to live, and when we don’t follow His way, we sin and fall short of what He wants.
Romans 5:8
But God shows his great love for us this way; Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
Even though we have, and will still, disobey God, He still loves us! because He made us! And He shows us He loves us by once allowing His son to die for us, to give us a chance to be free of the sin in our lives.
John 3:16
God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.
God sent his only son, Jesus, to die for us so that, if we believe and trust in Him, we will live with Him forever.
Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, then you will be saved.
In order to live with Jesus forever and to get rid of our sins, we must do two things. We must believe in our hearts that Jesus lived, died, and came back to life, and that He did all this for us, to free us from death and sin. Also, we must openly confess that we believe these things!
2 Corinthians 5:17
If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone, everything is made new!
If we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we are a new creation, which means we will have a new life! A better life! Our old sins and ways are gone, and Jesus is our new way!
1 John 5:3
And this is love for God, that we keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.
If we say Jesus has saved us and is now our king, we should then do what He asks of us. This is an every day action, not just a one time thing!
Matthew 28:19-20
Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Once Jesus is our Savior and King, we then go out and tell others about him. We don’t keep the good news about Jesus’ love to ourselves. We must go tell others!
